Founded in 2018 by Anthony Barbagallo, Sicilian Football aims to promote football on the Italian island of Sicily. Specialising in football journalism, digital media and social media marketing, Anthony developed a media platform where Sicilian and Italian football fans could follow the coverage of Sicilian football teams.

It's the first media platform that covers a variety of Sicilian football content in the English language, providing Sicilians and avid Calcio fans living abroad the opportunity to stay informed about football in Sicily. The Sicilian Football brand covers club news, league fixtures and produces exclusive interviews with several Sicilian and non-Sicilian footballers.

founder: Anthony Barbagallo

As a digital content creator and communicator, Anthony Barbagallo used his industry expertise and football knowledge to start a Sicilian Football brand. His Italian/Sicilian background also convinced him to establish this niche project.

Due to many Italian football fans living abroad in the US, Australia, Canada and the UK, Anthony came up with the idea to create a community where English-speaking Sicilians/Italians could follow all football coverage in Sicily. With hardly any football media platforms covering Sicilian football teams in English, this is where the opportunity to start Sicilian Football was born.

We specifically cover the news and games of professional, semi-professional and amateur Sicilian football teams, including a range of teams playing in some regional leagues. Sicilian Football is one of the few platforms to provide football coverage in Sicily.

Drepanum Calcio is a new and emerging football club based in the province of Trapani. This small side plays in Sicily's Terza Categoria (ninth division of Italian football).

GELA CALCIO

Gela Calcio 2020-21 home and away kits designed by Sicilian Football.

Gela Calcio was established in 2019. This is the third football club located in the city of Gela, province of Caltanissetta. Gela Calcio plays in the Seconda Categoria (eighth division of Italian football).

Marina di Ragusa Calcio was a semi-professional club that played in Italy's Serie D (fourth division). Our simple, yet classic, Rossoblu design was used in the club's special anniversary shirt.
